Customers can enjoy using the internet without worrying about running up an expensive bill.
Hull-based ISP KCOM has announced that none of their broadband packages will have data caps in place over Christmas.
From now until 31st January 2021, KCOM customers will be free to browse the internet, stream video, play games, download music and video chat as much as they like.
Much like on a smartphone, these caps put a limit on how much data you can download from the internet every month.
Exceeding a data cap that’s in place results in a financial penalty.
They’re not quite as common as they used to be, with most UK ISPs now offering what’s known as unlimited packages, but still do exist on certain contracts.
KCOM previously removed all of its broadband data caps in March 2020 to help enable all of its customers to work and take school from home properly.
“We’re removing usage limits to help our customers enjoy their Christmas and New Year celebrations without the worry of going over their data cap and incurring unexpected costs,” said KCOM’s CEO Dale Raneberg.
“The festive season can be stressful enough and, after the year we’ve all had, we thought this would be the ideal way to say thank you to all our customers this Christmas.”
